Little trip to Madrid

I recently went to Madrid for a little fun in the sun. It was perfect – we just walked around, drank Sangrias, ate tapas and watched people. I enjoy taking pictures with my cracked iphone, so rather than attempting a travel narrative, I’ve just posted them alone. I can highly recommend visiting, though! It’s got such a vibrant, out-on-the-streets culture, and the weather is gorgeous this time of year. 🙂

Most infamous square in Madrid. A lot of blood has been spilled here, apparently.

Mexican food in Spain. It was very yummy.

Marielle is not one to appreciate art (or even act like she does), but she was entertained by the multimedia in the museums I dragged her to.

I noticed that the women of Madrid often wear head to toe black. It looks good, but I wonder why.

Piece of art I liked from Reina de la Sofia. I always liked old billboards when they have layers and layers of old adverts. Reminds me of layers of time.

  1. Glad you had a lovely time in Madrid Jami and the weather looked great ! 😀 ❤

  2. All the photos were amazing. A beautiful place. My family came from Spain in the early 1900. Castellenas, a old name.

  3. What’s evident is that you really immersed yourself in Spanish culture – capital City culture too, which is very different… it looks like you went there and really made it yours for a few days 🙂

I can’t say I’m a fan of Spain, having had bad experiences there, including some in Madrid back in 2002… so perhaps it’s very telling that the photo I really loved, thought was exceptional actually, was the flight over the Netherlands one, those greenhouses look quite spooky with the clouds floating above… great pic as it’s hard to get good shots from an aircraft!

    • Yeah the greenhouse view was so strange!! Sorry to hear you had a bad experience….it really was a great time for us. I still look back on it with a big smile, which is always a blessing. When you can look back on memories with fondness.
