Johnny Cash at San Quentin

Johnny Cash at San Quentin

It’s my last evening of being 36. I stopped to take the first two photos on my bike ride home. What a beautiful evening it is.

I’m now at home listening to an old Johnny Cash record I found at a second-hand store over the weekend…drinking a glass of wine and enjoying reading the posts of all you beauties out there in the world.

Life is so good. Our moment is right now, and now (as my friend Mirka said).

I’m going to a “sit and serve” meditation retreat tomorrow (meditating and cleaning/maintainingΒ the campus with a group of other meditators). I wondered if this was really how I wanted to celebrate my birthday. As it turns out, it is.

Presence: embrace me.

Year 37: welcome, friend!

  1. Matthias

Happy Birthday Jami!!! Such beautiful photos from your bike ride. I hope you enjoy your “sit and serve” meditation. It sounds like a wonderful way to spend your birthday. It is nice that you are embracing yourself and your birthday. Enjoy yourself. Love yourself and know that you are loved.

    • Thank you Matthias! πŸ™‚ I will enjoy it, for sure. I always meet great people there, and the nature there (in the back woods of Belgium) is also good for the soul.

  2. Happy Birthday Jami . . . May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
    wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
    with joy that long endures.
    May all life’s passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

  3. Happy Birthday Jami (you youngin’). I hope your coming year is filled with joy and happiness. πŸ™‚

  4. For what it’s worth, I’m proud of you. Happy new start, Jami. Love Red

  5. Happy Birthday! Enjoy your meditation retreat!
